badly the first debate, could be all over for mitt romney. certainly not all over now. would you anticipate a tightening of the polls and a very, very close race now? >> i mean, it's certainly closer but there's always going to be good news and bad news, and so in trade, for example, the betting side, so obama's prospects fell slightly. i think it went from 69% to 65% chance of him winning re-election. you know, that feels about right. it helped romney but we're just in the second inning of a long, long ball game. >> when it gets to the foreign policy debate which is the last one, lots to discuss there, obviously, syria, also libya with ambassador stevens. but an interesting interview with john mccain. he's saying he's damned if he's going to give up freedom of speech because it may possibly offend the prophet muhammed. what do you make of that? >> well, he's certainly right on that. there's going to be no disagreement there. i think that the republicans are increasingly going to focus on what happened in libya, why there wasn't better securi

can't debate so change numbers. does the romney camp share that position? >> well, i think the point is it's one month of unemployment numbers. we'll have to wait and see next month what happens. but i think clearly the message is that the unemployment number is still 7.8%. we still have a work force participation rate that is far, far too high. we have 23 million americans who are still looking for work or ruggling to find work. so i think we still have a lot of americans who are going to argue that they are not better off now than they were four years ago. i think that is the central question that people are asking right now as we're about 30 days out. >> but my question was does the romney campaign stand with where jack welch stands? that these numbers may have been manipulated? >> like i said, we're going have to wait and see. i think that there are some questions about, you know, work force participation rate, so we'll have to wait and see. it's one month of numbers and we'll see next month when the numbers come out again. >> mitt romney's big push has

romney had this line in the debate you don't just pick the winners, you pick the losers too. and the president kind of brushed it aside and didn't address it. i would like to have heard the president debate that issue more carefully. that said, the president is not running on green jobs being the center of his economic agenda. you heard a lot of that on wednesday night about what he is for in terms of reducing the deficit, in terms of hiring teachers. and i think jennifer is right. in the next two debates i think the president should and will talk more broadly about what he would do to create jobs in the country. that will involve green jobs. the green jobs are more forward looking, probably a ten years from now agenda. and the president will talk more about hiring state workers, hiring teachers for his agenda right now. >> jennifer, a couple of things about this green job initiative. the government gave money to the nuclear industry when it started up in the '50s. you know, mitt romney during the debate criticized president obama when president obama criticized how much mone
